Jeffrey and I go way back to when I was working for the Oregon Physicians for Social Responsibility from 2003 to 2011. I started and directed their Campaign for Safe Food, which took on the problems of GMO’s, with recombinant bovine growth hormone, (rBGH or rBST), as one major focus.
Soon after starting, I became familiar with some of the national leaders in this movement, and Jeffrey was prominent in getting the word out. I don’t remember when we first met, but we communicated with each other closely and saw each other in person from time to time.
One of my favorite memories was when we went out to lunch one time when he was visiting Portland. I thought I picked a very “clean” organic-oriented restaurant, but Jeffrey grilled that waitress about everything on the menu to make sure! I think she learned a lot that day about what foods were and were not GMO-free.

After more than two decades of focusing on the health dangers of GMOs and Roundup, we now pivot to a more dangerous threat of genetic engineering – GMO 2.0. Stealth GMOs, gene edited, untested, covertly flood our food supply and beyond. We need a new focus. We must change government policies.
